What This Service Is

Education, Not Advice

Pathology reports are written for clinicians — not for the patients who receive them. Most reports — routine and complex alike — arrive with no translation, no context, and no one to ask. That is not a failure of the patient. It is a gap in the system. Sentinel bridges that gap — with 28 years of surgical pathology experience and the PA(ASCP) credential from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

Every engagement produces a Sentinel Clarity Report (SCR) — a structured, plain-language expert translation of your pathology report. It explains what each section means, defines the terminology, and provides possible questions to bring to your next appointment with your treating physician.

If you want to walk through your report together, a one-on-one video consultation with Sentinel is available as an add-on. It can be selected at the time of your initial engagement or within 30 days of receiving your Sentinel SCR.

Your pathology report was written for your doctor. Sentinel translates it for you.

How It Works

Four Simple Steps

Your privacy is protected at every step. Your report is never requested until your agreement is signed and payment is confirmed. The process is designed to be simple — one document, one payment, one secure submission.

1
Submit Your Intake Form
Complete the Patient Intake form with your general report type or topic and your specific questions. No pathology report is shared at this stage. Do not include accession numbers, dates of service, facility names, physician names, full diagnosis details, or other identifying medical information. Your questions become the foundation of your Sentinel Clarity Report.
2
Sign Your Agreement & Pay
Sentinel will send your Patient Engagement & HIPAA Authorization Agreement and a secure Stripe payment link via encrypted Hushmail message. Sign the agreement, elect your Video Consultation preference, and pay — all in one step. SCR: $275. With Video Consultation: $500.
3
Submit Your Pathology Report
Following payment confirmation, you receive a secure Hushmail encrypted link for submitting your pathology report. Your report is stored on a dedicated hardware-encrypted secure device — never in standard cloud storage.
4
Receive Your Sentinel Clarity Report
Sentinel reviews your report and delivers your written Sentinel Clarity Report (SCR) — built around your specific questions, with plain-language explanations, key terminology definitions, and suggested questions for your physician. If you elected the Video Consultation, your session is scheduled following SCR delivery. If you decide you want to talk it through after reading your report, the add-on remains available for 30 days.
